Coil compressing on a late 60's impala?

I need to compress the front coil springs on my 69 impala.Has any body ever done this?I need all the advice I can get.I have removed and installed c10 springs before but the impala springs are way longer and seem stiffer.Sorry about it being an off topic car but I trust your guys advice more than other forums.
