Well, its time to decide on spindles for my 67. I have a complete 71 setup and am fixing to git drop spindles. Should I just use this 71 setup or get the later model, possibly more common, 73-87 spindles, calipers, etc. Any input?

I would get the 73 up kit if you need new ball joints anyways. The parts are cheeper and more avaible for the 73 up kit.
I boought the CPP kit and it went on really good.

I wonder if the 71 calipers will work with the 73-87 spindles...

beleive it or not I went to get prices on front end parts cause I was in the same spot. I have my 69 but also have an 83 and a 78 front end. It ended up that the 69 parts were cheaper to buy. In a couple of cases it was half the price.

Maybe it was just me but that is what I got. Just thougth I would share.

BUT the 73-87 will probably be easier to find parts for in the future. So even if the parts may be a bit more $$$ you will still be able to get them fairly easy with the 73-87 stuff.

my 67 has a 85 front end on it, from what ive experienced its easier and cheaper to get parts for that year than pre 72

I think calapers were 71 only, and then 72 only...then 73 - 80 or something like that...meaing the 73&up stuff should be cheaper on brake stuff.

The calipers are different. The banjo bolt area, where the brake hoses attach is different. But, all of the calipers will interchange physically. They use the same D52 brake pads. Use whichever calipers, you just have to pay attention and use the proper hoses. 73 and up hoses are real long, and 71-72 hoses are real short. I actually wound up buying a special adapter hose from Early Classics that isn't even listed in their catalog.

71 calipers are different from 72 up.
