How much $ should I expect to spend to run new belts, hoses, emissions hose, etc.?
I want to clean up my engine bay. I have an '86 K10 and it everything works (no a/c) but all of my hoses, belts, vacuum lines have seen better days. I want to take out all of this and rerun everything so that it is in much neater and newer condition. As it is, I have what amounts to a bird's nest of wires and hoses and all sorts of stuff just making a tangled mess.

Buy your vacuum hose in bulk. If you buy a roll its about 10% of the price of buying it by the foot at the parts store.

also go to various stores and see what they have. Autozone's bulk vacuum hoses - they switched vendors and it is not as nice - thin walled. O'Reilly's looks and feels OEM'ish.

I use goodyear heater hose and gates belts and hoses, check out www.rockauto.com and compare brands and prices to local. Might as well replace thermostat and figrure on buying some anti freeze too.
