Show me Gray Paint Choices

I am putting my truck in the paint shop July 8th and need some help. I am having it painted a 2 tone gray / silver paint scheme and would like to get your take on the gray color to use. I seen a new Kia Optima and an Acura TSX that had nice gray colors. I have named the truck "Platinum C10" and have attached a couple pics for reference.

Re: Show me Gray Paint Choices

I would stay far away from the Honda and Toyota colors. The same color code can be any one of 15 different shades of silver or gray (called variants). Nissan is a little better. Believe it or not, but the domestic car manufacturers have a much better consistency for color match than the asian cars. It has to do with using the same color for so many different vehicles made in so many different places in the world with different paint manufacturers.

But, if you ever have to get back into it and repaint something, you'll get a much better match with domestic colors, or even the European cars.
Personally, I like Ford's CX "dark shadow gray" for a darker gray. Chrysler has a new "billet silver" that is a little darker but really smooth.

Is this still a problem if the paint shop mixes it's own paint?

Hey man, haven't seen you post in a little while. I am putting it in paint July 8th at Jeff's Paint and Body in Silsbee. I did see a gray I liked on a Toyota Tundra yesterday and it is probably the same one you seen on the Camry. That Sterling gray is a nice color.

If you like the Silverstone metallic on the trailblazer the code is U994L. Here's a link to my truck so you can see what it looks like. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=495229

I think I might do space gray on top and silverstone on the bottom. What you think?

Re: Show me Gray Paint Choices

Yeah ive been busy working 7-12s on nights. And about the question on the two colors you picked. I like both the silver and the gray you picked but it depends on what your going for. If your looking for a subtle and little contrast in color i say go with them two. If you want a big contrast in the two colors i say go with a darker gray on top.
