Question about these wheels

I bought these two wheels today and they are 16x6 GM with 6 lugs. Does anyone know what year they were produced. They are riveted instead of welded. Also you can see from the picture my 67 cap fits on them. I like to know it might make my search a lot easier if I know what I am talking about. How I found these my wife went on a drive in the country and drove by this place and he had all kinds of wheels on his property and I decided to stop. He was the nicest 88 year old guy I have every met. We fount the first two pretty quick. But no more on his 160 acres. Sorry for rambling. Here are the pictures maybe someone can identify. Thanks

This might help. The 46-72 parts book is not showing any 16x6" 6 lug wheels, only 16x5.0" and of those only one has the four hub cap nubs or clips (the book does not differentiate).
So check your wheels and measure the bead width and the offset (1/16") to see if it matches the chart.

SS Tim. If it is a 16x5 with nubs for caps what year would it be. Every thing else I have looked up has clips for the caps. And also these that i bought has L78 tires on them.

They look like 71 and newer 16" wheels. Earlier wheels had more rectangular ventilation gaps, later disc brake wheels have a more triangular ventilation gaps. These wheels were rarely ordered as options by the general public, most were bought by government agency's for extra ground clearance when traveling off road.

This is only what the parts manual has in it to 72. They could be later wheels or another brand.
That P/N 341503 is the correct replacement wheel for a 71-72 K10 or Blazer.

Tire size on the wheel now is completely irrelevant, any size tire could have been put on those wheels.

My 71 originally came with option code R65, which was specified on the SPID as "650x16x6 tires". The PO swapped out the driveline for 8-bolt 3/4 ton from a later c20, so I never saw the original wheels.

There were 3 codes on the SPID, 1R65AA, 1R65AE, and 1R65AF.

In 1971 RPO R65 was for tube-type 6.50-16/C (6pr) Highway tread tire. It was mounted on a 16x5" wheel and rated at 1610 lbs capacity ea. The full set like you had cost an extra $75.75. It is noted three times on the SPID for front, rear and spare. As factorystock said these were not often ordered and the Govt. agencies like the USFS bought them to allow in-field tire repairs.

My truck was bought by a private individual, one of those rare cases I guess.

Anyway, at some point he must have found the stock setup too light-duty for his needs, because he swapped it all out for 8-lug/14-bolt from a squarebody. I like the stance, though the leaf-spring ride does leave a bit to be desired when I'm not towing my boat or the bed is empty.

My 1964 1/2 ton 2WD has 16 x 5 steel wheels with nubs for the small caps. I have no idea if they are original but I want to believe they are as I am the 3rd owner of this truck and the 2nd owner only had it for 8 months and did nothing to it. That is a lot of years to try and figure out what the original PO may have changed.

The 63-70 Series 10, 16x5K, P/N 3974200 is the replacement for the non-disc applications. Interestingly there are no clips or nubs listed. Need to look into this more if I have time. But you might can shoot a PM to Jocko or post up on the 60-66 forum.

Well I do not know what year these are from but they fit on the k10 with disk with plenty of clearance.
SS Tim these look like 63-65 rims if I not mistaken BUT if they were they shouldn't fit disk brake setup or am I wrong.

Factorystock seems to think they are 71 up wheels and you say they clear disc brakes which would support that. Try cleaning things up, looking for markings,date codes and measure the backspace. The early wheels had 7/16" offset and no nubs or clips apparently. The later wheel has 1/8" offset and four nubs or clips.

going to chime in. headed to pick a set of 4 up tonight of a 71-72 k5 blazer. the spid card calls out 16x6" 6 lug. will take pics of card and wheels. 10" dog dish fits too. i'm looking for 1 more.
