The old question? What green is What?
I have been noticing that the Medium green colors have been getting more popular and I have already decided to paint my 70 short bed one of these colors. I would like to stay with a stock color but after a lot of searching and reading I am never really certain what green is what. The 3 color codes I have narrowed down( I think?) are offered in 69 and 70 maybe more years too. The first is called Light green in 69 which is 533 or 503, the next 2 are in 1970 and are medium green 503 and medium blue green 529. I think one of these is metallic and one isnt? Can anyone point to a truck and say this is for sure what color it is? I added 4 pics of green trucks I like. Not totally sure they are factory colors but I think they are, but what number I can only guess. Any idea or do you have pics of another truck that you know the color code?

Re: The old question? What green is What?
Well there is some overlap.
503 light green was a 69 down non-metalic color (Ditzler 43523) 533 was 503 in the conventional two-tone with a white roof in 69. 518 medium green was a 70 up non-metalic color (Ditzler 2208) 533 was 518 in the conventional two-tone with a white roof 70-72 Note: Same code different body color. This will get you started and will work on the other questions a little later. If you like metalic dark blue green take a look at the code 512 Longhorn pictures I posted on this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...3&goto=newpost Finally it is generally easier for me to work from a code and find a truck so if something look "right" let me know/

Re: The old question? What green is What?
Well,
My truck is 1971 518 medium green (lower left corner) and I had the paint mixed myself. Though its not the old paint, its what you will get now. Looks much better in person. It is a unique color and gets alot of attention when I take it out. Depending on how the sun shines, it looks like 503 also. Smitty

Re: The old question? What green is What?
This looks to be a 532 conventional two-tone. 529 med. blue green poly (metallic) body (Ditzler 2205) and 521 white roof (Ditzler 2185). However since we can't see the rockers it might be a 598 special two-tone with white rockers too.

Re: The old question? What green is What?
534 is a commonly found conventional two-tone of 504 medium olive green body (Ditzler 2097) with a 521 white roof (Ditzler 2185).
