Several Questions on Installing Disc Brakes (Plumbing)
All.
I know Ive asked a lot of questions here lately on brakes. I've searched several threads both here, and the net in general. As you know we installed a 79 crossmember in her 61 to give us the disc brake set up. These are heavy duty discs (1 1/4) with 6 lug rotors. I have started plumbing the rear brakes (factory drums) and have the lines to a point in the front frame under the MC. The fronts I have plumbed from the right side to a 3/16 Tee or block to pick up the left, and the bull of the tee to supply the fronts. I plan on using a prop. valve, and mounting it near the MC. the rears are easy. its one line to the rear axle where is splits to each wheel. Doing research I see that some plumb the fronts as I started to using a tee. Others "homerun" from each caliper to the PV. Which is the proper way to do this? Ive looked at the FAQs and done some research. My plan is to run a 8 or 9 inch booster using Capt Fab's bracket, and a PV mounted near/under the MC. Any help is greatly appreciated. Glenn

Re: Several Questions on Installing Disc Brakes (Plumbing)
It doesn't really matter.
Once you get the lines "fluid solid" the brakes will work. The 67-72 trucks use a "tee" up front. The 73-87 trucks make a full run all the way from the prop valve. (but it is installed on a crossmember down by the radiator) Take the simple appraoch. Make your lines as clean and simple as possible. Take your time routing them. Use line clamps where neccessary, and secure them where they connect to the rubber flex hoses.
