Re: clutch rod hole cover f/s
I will take it BillsBowtie. I wonder why my Jimmy never had one? The hole is there of course, and the firewall pad is exposed, but there are no screwholes.
Original auto trans truck. Can ya send the screws too? I'll pm my address. Paypal ok?---DAC

Re: clutch rod hole cover f/s
Hey Bill, thanks for the quick response. Here is a pic of that clutch rod hole on my 70 Jimmy. I thot maybe it was a plastic plug that was missing before I saw the bolt on cover on my 72 pickup. Musta been a lazy day in the factory! I,ll get a MO sent Monday.
Later---DAC

Re: clutch rod hole cover f/s
This is a very old posting but I figured I would chime in since I've learned about this clutch hole in the firewall, being that I own a 70 automatic. From 67-70 a plastic cap was used, Carplugs B-606. Since the cap used to fall out easy, many trucks don't have it in anymore and you can just see through to the insulation. From 71-72 a metal cover was used that was fastened to the firewall with a top and bottom screw.
Looks like you can get a plastic one here: http://www.gmcpauls.com/auto.transmission.htm |
