Can mounting
We got the can set on the frame yesterday but I have a question on how it actually mounts. We got a bolt/bushing kit from LMC and there is a square washer/spacer with the rubber mount. Where does that go? Looks like it goes between the cab mount and the rubber. Also the kit came with a new washer that goes under the bolt head the only problem is there I about a 5/16 gap between that washer and the recess in the floor. Can I use a flat washer or should I make a spacer to go between the two? Sorry I didn't take any pictures of what I am talking about.

Re: Can mounting
Is this for the 52? If so I can't help, no manuals on them. LMC usually has pretty good diagrams that shows how the stuff fits. They might have some more info over at Stovebolts.com too.

Re: Can mounting
Here are some online manuals
1948-1951 chevy truck http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...ruck/index.htm 1954 chevy truck http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...4ctsm0101.html I hope it helps. There is a list of manuals on this site but I did not see any for the 1952 model year. Here is the main page. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/ Last edited by Kabwe; 07-08-2013 at 12:40 PM. |

Re: Can mounting
Thanks, I guess I need to stop trying to post from my phone. I just reread this and it should have been cab not can mounting...lol.
Kabwe, I look there last night and it still is not clear. Maybe I will call LMC and see if someone in their tech dept can answer my question. Bernie |

Re: Can mounting
That will definitely help. Looks like I need to set the clearance from the frame to cab distance on the front and rear and then line the fenders and hood to the body. Is that right? I saw some dimensions on this diagram and on another page for the front.

Re: Can mounting
Do yourself a favor and go over to stovebolt.com and read the tech articles. If you do not assembly and align in the right sequence getting the hood to fit the fenders and cab can be a problem. Lots of good info in the tech section over there. This says hood but it addresses the cab and fenders too.

Re: Can mounting
I found that putting the hood and core support on first and then trying to get the fenders to fit the bottom of the hood, try it and let me know if it works for you
