got a few questions on a truck im lookin at!!!

Alright, I have a 69 GMC and would like to add to my collection, Im looking at buying a 60-66 Chevy c-10 2 wd 3 on the tree. I climbed in and it smelled like mice, no biggy. But I pushed on the clutch and it had GOOD PRESSURE!!! it was last liscensed in '02. The brakes are a different story, I pushed and had little resistance, then just was completely free of pressure, Could I have pushed all the junk in the master cylinder into the lines? or was the brake piston just alittle seized up? The wood bed is in AMAZING STOCK CONDITION!!! So my main question is. Is this worth 400 bucks? And how difficult are the brakes on this truck? But my question at the top of my list is this, What is wrong with the brakes???????? it has a I 6 in and looks like a 250. is that correct?? Im very excited about this truck. Thus the reason for all my run on ??????? marks haha. Thanks guys!!!!!!

Brakes are just normal drum brakes, same as your '69. Easy to work on, and parts are cheap and readily available. Expect to at least need to rebuild or replace all the wheel cylinders and maybe master cylinder. (I just buy the rubber seals and rebuild them, personally.) Stick some new shoes on when you fix the wheel cylinders, too. FWIW I don't turn drums. Make sure the lines and hoses are good, it's not a bad idea to replace them anyway. I get a lot of brake stuff from Rock Auto, btw.

That's what I was planning on doin. I want to replace the MC and then clean out the lines, then redo the shoes.

Does it run? And is the clutch hydraulic or mechanical? 1960-1962 were hydraulic, 1963- were mechanical. Brakes if stock should be drum so no biggy on replacing those. What year is it? 250 was an option from 60-78. If it runs and doesn't have rot then 400-550 is an okey offer. Keep us posted.

$400? You haven't bought it yet? If not, get it before somebody else does.

Friends, the days of finding a cheap '60-'66 are rapidly coming to a close. If you've always wanted one, I would suggest getting it as soon as you can because the prices are climbing rapidly.

Alright so my main question is this, how do I get the brakes in working order? Does the dead pedal mean the MC is bad??

Did you look IN the master cylinder? No fluid=no pressure. It could have leaked out from a bad line or wheel cylinder. If there is fluid, start looking at lines and wheel cylinders.
