will 15" stock wheels clear 2.5" drop spindles?

I searched for the answer to this question but was unable to find a definitive answer. I'm sure someone knows if I will have a problem or not.

In my case, 15 steel wheels hit the lower A arm with the 2.5"drop spindles

Stock what year wheels?
60-70 6-lug?
No.
There is usually not the correct clearance to clear the disc brake caliper that installs on your drop spindle.
Backspacing?
Yes the 15x6.5 steelies usually have the correct backspacing.

You need 71-87 4x4 steelies (6-lug).
Or run a 5-lug set-up with 71-87 2wd steel wheels.

The 15" wheels are six lug with 3.5" backspacing. I can go with a 2" drop spindle if I have to. What do you think?

As long as they are 71-87 4x4 steel wheels,... you will be fine.
Early pre-71 wheels won't work.

That looks like a pre 71 wheel.

Not to hijack the thread, but there seems to be some good knowledge here--anyone know if vintage 5-slot, 6-lug wheels will clear 2.5-inch spindles and discs?
