Removing wiper arms
Sooo loving getting to work on my truck today, and soooo glad that yall are here with me
 . Someone here, cant remember who, told me to remove the wiper arms and make sure that everything can move freely before attempting to change out a wiper motor that dosent need changed. How do I get the wiper arms off?Thanks so much yall!! junk

I know others will tell you how it can be done without a tool – but this little guy is one of the best tools for quickly and easily removing the wiper arms from our trucks.

Lift up, pry off. At least on mine that's what I do. I lift the arm and then with a towel and a claw hammer carefully pry the arm of the post. A hammer works for me cause it give me leverage but others use a special tool for it.

ok, thanks guys!!! I started with wd40-ing the heck out of all the moving parts I could see through the cowl. It actually did free them up some. Still gonna take the arms off and make sure its all lubed good. Getting ready to take the fam out for a little drive. Yay!!

Personally I think the specialty tools for this are a waste of money.
I got mine off by using a pick (came from Harbor Freight I believe) to pull on the tang, while using a screwdriver to pry up. Very easy once you get the hang of it.

Specialty tool – 5 to 15 dollars
Time savings and no worries about damaging paint or wiper arm – Priceless

Here is a youtube video demonstration on a Corvette but it's the same tool and same principle as our trucks.
I bought the cheap version of the tool and it works fine. Good luck ..........
