Re: switching to spin on oil filter help?

Why get rid of something that works? Filters are still available. Having said that, just look for a race car remote adapter and run the supply and return lines from the block. They will be setup with a fitting to replace the spin on on the SBC/BBC blocks. Jegs currently is running free shipping.

There are several remote filter mounting bases in this O'Reilly's link. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...0538/C0119.oap You can find the same ones and more on Ebay or Summit, Jegs or Northern Auto parts.

Re: switching to spin on oil filter help?

To properly update the oil filtering you need to switch to a full flow filter setup. In order to do that you need to machine the block. Here is a link of the writeup that I used.

http://www.speedprint.com/deves50/oilfilterinstall.php

If you are just wanting to get rid of the bulky filter then follow the same steps for the adapters/ lines and you'll be set.

I used -8 earls braided nylon line and an fittings.
