Re: 17" tube type
My '65 C-30 had 17" lock ring wheels with 7.50-17's on it when I got it. They were an option, according to the GM book 17.5" tubeless was standard.

Re: 17" tube type
I've never scanned the tube type wheel page.

Re: 17" tube type
The slightly larger 7.50-17 tire is much more common and still available in bias ply. Here is a new '63 C-20 with 17" tube type tires. Unfortunately, the 17" is a 3 piece rim, not the better design 16" 2 piece rim or the even better design 1 piece 17.5" wheel. THe 7.50-17" tire is the same diameter of the 8-19.5" tire. The 17" tire is more rubber on less rim, while the 19.5" tire is less rubber on more rim. As I have mentioned in other posts, the tire+ wheel+ hubcap combo is crucial to the overall original character of any vehicle.

Re: 17" tube type
the last time i got 17s they were 750/17 as with all tires they are pricey.... i also have a full set of 17.5s off of a 65... i am a long way from tires so i have time to figure out what way i want to go... i would love to stay with bias ..i hate exploding tires (radials)
