info on a 1986 c10 silverado,NORTH TEXAS EDITION

New to the board . Can anyone out there, especially in North Texas, help me. Does anyone have information about the NORTH TEXAS EDITION. I have this truck that is in mint condition. Im trying to find out what extras were put on it to make it the North Texas Edition. Its blue and gray, with pinstriping. the paint is original. Not sure about the pinstriping, billet grille, different rear bumper, running boards, bucket seats with console, bedliner, radio, SS Crager rims, 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires. In the glovebox with all the GM codes it has a sticker stuck on it from Southwest Custom Aircrraft. 3118 S Great SW Pkwy. Grand Prairie, Tx. 75051. phone-214-647-0311. date on the sticker is 3/21/86. Has #90-86GM Truck. Custom Aircraft is out of business . Does anyone know what the package was , or even if they did do somethig to the truck, what they did? I am tryng to get this truck back to original and I dont know if it is already. Maybe theses things were put on it before the previous owner bought it by this Custom Aircraft. Previous owner has passed away and I bought it from his wife ad she doesnt have any information. It was purchased at Hudiburg Chev. I phoned them and they have no records because they have changed owners. Please! Desperate for help!! If someone could help, I will give email or phone number. thanks, joe

Sounds like an upfitter did the customization (not from GM), which is fairly typical. Places like Starcraft RV (in Indiana) used to do a lot of custom vans and pickups back in the day.

One thing you might do, depending on how desparate you are to know, would be to send $50 and your VIN to the GM Heritage Center archive. They can provide you with the original invoice for your specific truck, which includes pricing and option information. That would at least give you a baseline of what came on the truck when it went out the door at GM.

Also - for your perusal - here is a generic info packet for 1986 Chevy pickups. This will show you available paint schemes and option content from GM:

Ditto:

Pathfinder was another aftermarket up-builder here on the West Coast.

There was also another Company (Centurion ?) who would up-build Ford's. At one time, in the 1990’s, who was combining full size Bronco’s with F-350’s to get a full-size carryall, what has now come to be known as the “Excursion”

Re: info on a 1986 c10 silverado,NORTH TEXAS EDITION

Thanks Keith and Johnny. I did send $150. to GM Canada and they sent me information about the truck, the paint code is 4001ZB-special order paint. I assume looking at the paint schemes, that the pin striping is original too. But they have no recollection of Southwest Custom AirCraft. I still need to find someone in the Dallas ,Fort Worth area that knows anything about what Southwest Custom AirCraft did to the truck back in 1986. The truck has 27,000 original miles and not a scratch in the paint anywhere. I do have original step bumper and grille, trim rings. Right down to the lug nuts. All in mint condition. Thanks
