Burb Rear A/C in a Crew?

I'm back and forth about what I want to build for my next toy, either a roadster k5 on air, or a ls powered ccsb.

If I go with the crew, I'd like to add a rear a/c setup from a suburban. Has anyone done this?

After some l looking online, I don't think the burb setup would work without a ton of modding. So hmmm... Anyone have a good idea to get air to the back?

Anything can be done if you try hard enough,Only thing i see being a problem is trying to tuck everything in the back of the cab.You have any measurements on all the pieces?

I don't have any measurements, nor have I bought a cab yet. I just didn't realize the vents were all the way at the back of the suburban. I'd like to try and keep it simple, as a ccsb would probably end up being my dd, I know myself.

I think the only thing you will accomplish is blowing cold air on the back of the drivers head. rear 'burb air box is BIG. Why not come up with a center console that plums air to the rear via the floor?

Alot of cars use this idea to get air to the back... or under the front seats which would just as good.

I just wish you could buy a high flow fan to move the air quicker... Cool down time seems long in a crew.

Re: Burb Rear A/C in a Crew?

After owning square burbs and a next gen burb, I have an idea. My 96 has rear air also. But it is totally different than the square. It has the vents right behind the driver. You can also put it on front or rear control, etc. Might be interesting to take a look at it.

The 96 idea would be cool, especially if it has it's own control unit. I had thought of doing a console type too. It's all gonna come down to what I find first, a blazer tub or a crew cab body.

I think you'll be a lot better off building the rear AC setup yourself. Using bent sheetmetal welded together or something. I've considered doing this in a couple of older, longer vehicles that I want to fix up. Bout the only thing you'll get to use that's factory will be the vents, for looks.
