Inside mirror location

Hello All,
I am trying to locate the factory mounting dimensions for a 1972 rear view mirror tab. I just received my factory assembly manual and tried searching here to no avail.
Does someone have this information?
Thanks for any help,
CC

Re: Inside mirror location

Maybe someone with a '72 can take some measurements for you but remember that if the windshield was replaced, the rear view mirror placement may not be exact. I've replaced windshields on several vehicles I've owned in the past and always wind up estimating the location of the rear view mirror.

Thanks 68gmsee for the info and link. If no one else responds, that is what I will do.

Thanks again,

Re: Inside mirror location

Mine is one of those early 72's that's still mounted from the top of the cab... (and greetings from Lincoln County as well, CC!)

Re: Inside mirror location

On my 72,the metal piece that is glued to the windshield is approximately 2- 3/4 inches down from the edge of the windshield rubber.I didn`t remove my mirror from the metal piece to get the exact measurement, but the rubber piece that slips over the metal retainer is 2 -11/16 down from the windshield rubber.
Hope this helps..
Chris

Re: Inside mirror location

Hello Lifetime, thanks for measuring this for me. I feel better knowing before the glue goes on.

Hello DGulliver, One day we will have to meet up and compare (admire) each others trucks.

Thanks,
CC

Your truck looks great, CC. I'm right down 110 towards Ardmore..
