Anyone know of good east to west auto transport.

Truck is in Nevada. It's a one ton about 20 ft long and probably 5000 pounds. Curious if anyone had one transported lately or could recommend one. Thx in advance.

Re: Anyone know of good east to west auto transport.

I've tried the big names and the little guys, and found that posting it on U-ship.com made the whole thing a LOT less expensive. I had a Harley located about 600 miles north of me that I needed shipped, and a guy from U-ship called me and said he was in the bike's area and had to deliver to place an hour away from me, and if he could pick it up right then, he would only charge $150 bucks. So if you catch a guy who's needing some fill, it can really work to your advantage.

I used dependable auto shippers. dasautoshippers.com. They quoted a price and a time frame. It was spot on. Have used others that come in with a low number only to raise just before picking up. By then you are committed

Re: Anyone know of good east to west auto transport.

I've used DAS several times, the first few were great, and the last two they sucked so bad I swore I would never use them again. I gave my dad a motorcycle for his birthday and needed it shipped to WA state. DAS picked it up a week late, and then it sat in a holding station in CO for almost a month while they waited to get a full load again cause they missed the load they were supposed to ship it on. Never again.

U-Ship FTW!

Just stay away from the "brokers"......I have found the little guys do a much better job and have been more timely.

Re: Anyone know of good east to west auto transport.

I've used Ready Auto Transport a lot to get one car from a tough spot. They will get it hauled for what they quote you even if it costs them more to get it done. I have run into long delays on cars on the east coast going west but Nevada shouldn't be much of a tough spot. If there is a Dealer only auto auction in the area, Manheim or Adesa give the transportation department a call. They may be trying to fill a load going that way or to FL or some other place and be able to haul it for you. Worth a shot. Good luck, with enough cash you can move a truck anywhere just about any time.

Dont have anything to pull with anymore but I would love to see my aunt in Vagas.I would offer but I sold my 3/4 ton truck a few years ago.

uncle it may be cheaper if you have a truck to pull with to go and get it your self.

Re: Anyone know of good east to west auto transport.

Tim,

I have a vehicle going to California. The guy buying it is still searching for a transporter. We may be able to get someone at USHIP to work out a both leg route.

For the ones using U-Ship, do they bombard your email? Just curious before signing up.

Yep, If you put out an online quote request, you'll want to make sure your cell phone has a good charge first. I did it recently and I had no more clicked the 'Submit' button and my phone lit up. It took me two weeks to get through 'it's already taken care of'. Realistically I bet I had 50 companies contact me.

If I used Uship to haul something, with my luck, that grouchy white headed guy would show up.

The most important thing missing from this thread is PICS! Without pics, I don't believe there is a truck in Nevada! -lol
