Storing options

So pretty soon I will be deploying for well over six months and I could use some advice on how best to store the truck. My wife tells me she's going to start it up once a week, but I know better than that. My options now are park it behind the house in the yard or I thought about jacking it up and putting it up on jack stands to keep the weight off the tires.

Re: Storing options

fill the tank, drop in some fuel stabilizer, change the oil, spray some Wynns fogger in the cyclinders, disconnect or trickle charge the battery, cover it & hope for the best (rodents). if i store a truck for a long time i too jack it up, but just enough to take the weight off, but not let the susp. hang

Re: Storing options

Your best bet would be indoor storage.

Re: Storing options

I guess it depends on your climate too,I just got my 80 K20 running that was sitting since last October.it was sitting in an open front shed & wintered quite well! This isn't the ideal way to store a truck, just sayin. If it can be started every couple months it would keep seals from drying out too...
