My 77 finally made it home!
So I bought this truck about a month ago in Arkansas and let's just say it took about a month to get it shipped......but hey.....it's here right.
Overall I think this is going to be a great driver project. Some of the unknown bads are: 1. There's a bit more rust repair needed than I was expecting (pics below) 2. Interior is a little rougher than I originally thought 3. Steering box is leaking a bit Some of the goods: 1. Bed is in great shape. Surface rust only. Bed wood is useable. 2. Engine runs good. A little of idle stumble. 3. It has a new radiator, looks like a used HEI distributor/coil, and all smog equipment appears to be intact. Cat is huge by todays standards! 4. lights work, windshield wipers work, radio not so much Overall it looks like a fairly well maintained truck that was only mildly molested.

Looks like a really good truck. Keep us posted on what you do.
Don't feel bad, I have a 77 that I bought in Montana that I am still waiting on. It has been 5 months, but I do know the shipper, so I am not worried. |

Looks like a great starting point.
Is that the MY0/MY6 overdrive manual transmission handle I see sticking up out of the floor? Great powertrain - L6 & overdrive manual!! K

Re: My 77 finally made it home!
Like I was saying....a little more rust than I wanted to deal with but that's how these things go I suppose. Looking to fix it asap.....not sure how to tackle it. Go all the way and weld in replacement panels or something less permanent and cost effective....need it roadworthy soonest! Would love some a/c! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My 77 finally made it home!
It looks like a nice truck with a lot of potential. I am I reading right that you had it shipped from Arkansas to CA? It just seems like there are a ton of nice rust free square bodies in CA. Please don't take this as being negative but I love California for the rust free sheetmetal!

suffice to say, I'm happy with my deal and she'll no doubt be a fun project. I did learn a few things in the process though and that's always a good thing

My first truck was basically the 1980 version of what you have: My son in law is looking for a truck: I wish you could take yours and run it through the copy machine... K
