wiw? 72 cheyenne lwb
like so many other members time has become an issue and im trying to simplfy. So I have decided to put the old girl up for sale. I'm not sure what its worth though. I have done an extensive amount of work to the truck with the only thing really remaining that needs to be done being the suspension and a/c, what has been done is,
new paint, 700r4 w/od 3.73 posi new carpet new dash pad new a/c compressor with 134 conversion. condenser is bad new cab rubber I also have a tilt van column for it that has not been installed yet and a extra spare tire that has never been used along with the factory steel wheels. Engine has been bored .30 over but could use a rebuild. Carb could use a rebuild as well. The truck is solid and rust free. all this was taken care of when the paint job was done. here's some pics

Well it's just a matter of what you feel it takes to ask for it.
I like the looks of the truck, and sounds like you have put some time, parts and labor into it. So, come up with a price that your comfortable with knowing that most everyone will try to ask (of course) - "what's your bottom dollar?", before ever even looking at it, driving it or really having a clue what they are looking at. I have one right now that I've had plenty of people stop and look at and like it but just were not decided if this type of truck is what they want, or maybe they just liked it and didn't imagine that an old truck could be worth what I'm asking for it. Good luck |

tlcrz1972, You mind me asking what you're asking for yours? I am asking 9500 for mine but haven't really advertised it yet. Just kinda hate to see it go. Really love the old truck. I have heard a couple of remarks one of which was at red light where the driver yelled out my asking price and said some crap like he was really shocked. But like all of us on here, we have all put a lot more into our trucks than we could get out of them and that's the way it is for any restored car or truck.

Re: wiw? 72 cheyenne lwb
Sure I'm asking $13,800 and yes I have way more than that in it
You can see some old pictures on my home page, it is the yellow shortbed, but now it has aluminum wheels (17 on front/ 18 on rear). I need to get new pictures of it and I'll be posting it on this site. It has a 1993ish FI 350, 400 tranny, a slight lowering, complete paintjob done around 2001-02 time, factory a/c (on 134a), p/s, p/b nice interior, etc. tore down to complete frame repaint and then up from there.etc, etc, etc..... And it just set up as nice driver. I think your price is very reasonable, and the common people who think you are asking way to much are just not into the old truck market, and don't understand. Re: wiw? 72 cheyenne lwb
Sounds like you and I did almost the same thing. I was going to install a vortec f.i. 5.7 but then decided to build the engine as carbureted but never have finished building it up. As it stands now the heads are back on it and it has new rings, bearings, freeze plugs, has been honed out by the machine shop and the crank was polished. I have reassembled most of it but never have decided on a cam to go with so its just sitting on the engine stand. But it looks good sitting there. I would still like to finish the engine and put it in the truck but just don't have the heart to put the money into it just to sale all of it. my paint was done about three years ago and since hen its gotten a few scratches but its still nicer than it was when I bought it.. A thousand times nicer. I guess I will go ahead and list it on the site and see where it goes.
