Putting fuel tank in the back thoughts.

I have looked at options looked at past threads til I am blue in the face. So what are you using an seems to be the best option? I want to move the tank to the rear in front of the rear bumper.

1971 C10 Short wheel base.

Re: Putting fuel tank in the back thoughts.

When I moved my tank to under the bed in my '71 long bed 4x4 I got my tank, straps and sending unit from GMC Paul, board member and supporting vendor. May not be "the best" option out there, worked well for me, but "best" is rather a subjective term. I went with the poly tank and have had no problems at all. Opened up a lot of storage space behind the seat and more weight on rear axle in winter time is nice plus. Lots of tank filler ideas out there. What works best for you with your experience, $$, time and desired outcome is also subjective. Good luck with your decision.

Re: Putting fuel tank in the back thoughts.

Mine is a 72 blazer tank and straps, used a 84ish style fuel door and neck. looks nice and clean but did have to fabricate a little on the inside of the bed to make a box for the fuel neck. I thought I had some pics of it on this computer but must not. You may have already seen it though. Good luck, There is a lot of great Ideas here, you just have to go with the one you like best.

I'm kind of partial to the 1969 Camaro Gas Tank swap
