Re: Neverwet coating

I believe there was a thread recently about a similar product, still trying to find it reasonably priced though

that looks like it might be great on windshields if it is legal and wouldnt cause any fogging issues

Re: Neverwet coating

It's been discussed quite a but over on GarageJournal. It's a great product but has to be reapplied periodically.... Which I course makes it MORE costly an its already not cheap. But I can think of a few uses for it.

Re: Neverwet coating

I knew it would probably have to be applied often, that's the downfall! It did seem amazing though! I really don't even know what I would do with it! If it would repel grease and dirt, I'd buy it!

Re: Neverwet coating

Oh it can repel all of it.
But people have said it isn't too durable....
For windshields, I just got a set of shower doors that has a hydrophobic coating like neverwet, but it lasts a lot longer. I want to see if it's possible for me to coat my windows in it.

Re: Neverwet coating

Different companies are experimenting with this technology right now. Give it a couple years, and we should have some really nice products on the market.

Re: Neverwet coating

I want to see it developed to be used as an anti-graffiti coating. I HATE that idiots vandalize public spaces

Me too, Some of those guys are pretty talented. If they were to develop that talent in a constructive way they could make money. But I guess selling drugs is easier.

They are aready have that product, its a two part epoxy clear coat that can be sprayed onto anything that once dry will repel paint, but the problem with it is it is very expensive, most companys dont use it because most clients dont want to spend the extra money. The flip side of the two part epoxy is that most building handyman dont know or dont care that the building was sprayed with the epoxy and will usualy go and paint over the graffiti with another color paint, because theys are too lazy to use a pressure sprayer to remove the graffiti once its been sprayed over the epoxy, I know this for a fact because several of the building in the last two or three years that I built were spray with the two part epoxy and when I went back to see the building later they all have been painted over with differnt color than when I had finished the building. The bad thing is the building owner will find out later after several coats of paint it will start flaking off.

personaly I always wanted to sit out in a known area that gets graffiti and use a 22 to shoot the fingers off the a$$ ho$e that deface public property, but I guess that would be extreme....lol

Re: Neverwet coating

Yeah a bit extreme....... how about paintball guns?
That way you hit 'em anywhere, and you can tell everyone you were "marking" them.
