Any ideas?

I haven't started DaBeast (my 65 Suburban) in a year. I put a new dash, floors, kick panels and rocker panels. I put a new battery in it and turned the key. If I pour gas in the carb it try's to start. There was gas in the tank from last year and to me it smell like that's the problem. I'm going to drain the gas and clean the plugs tomorrow. Is there something else I need to do that I'm missing. Yes its getting fire because it tried to run off the gas I poured in the carb. Thanks for the help Rich.

Re: Any ideas?

I would say that the old gas is your problem. In addition to draining the old gas from the tank, I would also change your fuel filter(s) and empty your carburator bowls. Your carb may even need to be disassembled and cleaned or rebuilt, depending on how bad the old gas is.
