Hi, Guys and Gals: New to the site and was wondering the best place to find parts and specs for a restore of a 1971 C-10? Thanks Brent

Re: Where is the best place to find parts?

What kinda parts?

I get quite a few parts from Napa. When I have to, I go to Advanced or PepBoys, etc, but you better know what you want.

When possible, I support the vendors on this site.
GMCPauls is one I recommend.
There are many others just as good.

Check the parts board on this site.

HTH...don t. ....

GMCPaul or Classicheartbeat (Wes). If you buy 67-72 specific parts from anyone else you are rolling the dice.

I like supporting the vendors and buying from members that have items for sale listed on the parts board here on the forum especially if its a speciality part, but if is something I can buy at a regular auto parts store and don't need it ASAP I like to use www.rockauto.com

Re: Where is the best place to find parts?

Now you tell me! I just got a bunch of rubber parts from Tucker's and a sending unit from Classic Parts of America. My cab mounting kit is on the way from Classic Heartbeat.

I avoid LMC if at all possible.

When I can, I buy OEM parts or fix what I have. I get some things from Advance Auto but not many, just really basic parts from them: brake shoes, drums, fuel pump, oil filter. I might get a gas tank from, um, can't think of it just now but another guy on here referred me, oh that's it, Classic Chevy.

Re: Where is the best place to find parts?

Thanks all for the help with finding parts. I am looking for a 69-70 outer grille shell...? Sorry, I did not post what the heck I was looking for. I have a 71 C-10 that has a 70 or a 69 grille? and was dinged up when I bought the truck. Or does anyone know if maybe a early 71 truck might have slipped through with a 70 grille on it? Thanks Brent
