getting the back of the cab straight
okay so ive been working on this for over a week and have gotten nowhere and its really starting to piss me off. what do i do to get this straight!!! i put bondo on it and board sanded it and i get no where. if i try to get rid of the high spots they either spring back or sink in and pop up elsewhere .. is there any trick to fixing this or am i going to have to live with it? i realize that it is like that from factory too.

Re: getting the back of the cab straight
had a dent like that behind the rear wheel, usually it's because the metal has stretched. my friend (auto body guy), gave me a metal shrinking disc to try, worked like a charm

Re: getting the back of the cab straight
Haven't done any body work so I'm just throwing this out there to get done feedback, but what drilling a 5/16" hole in the middle of the bump, or getting a cutting wheel and cutting a slit in the bump, the do the same other way to make an ex. Grab a smal wire feed welder and start tacking and grinding away. Like I said I've never done body work, just metal work in a foundry to fix imperfections quickly.

Re: getting the back of the cab straight
I work at columbia steel as a millwright. we specialize in chains for large earth excavators. im talking 4" thick, 12"wide, 24"long per link. then the company branched out into more parts for rock crushers, heavy metal scrape shredding....its crazy man. we have cones that funnel the rock into crushers, some are 10'tall 7'wide at the base. its actually kind of small though 10mt furnaces(lol metric ton) furnaces. there's OSM that has 100ton laddles.

Re: getting the back of the cab straight
i think ive got it figured out ! in order to keep it from warping when i sand i put a few wrenches in behind the back of the cab between the ribbing and the second payne on the inside, just put them in far enough to keep the metal from moving when i use the sander and then secured them with tape and started sanding ! seems to be working so far
