Newb: 1982 k10
Hey guys I just picked this truck up today I love it so far. Slowly I will do the things that I want to it. The body is straight, and will make a good truck. I was wanting to put a 4 inch lift and 35 inch tires. Do you guys think the tires would be ok with just a 4 inch lift?

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
looks like a good truck to start with! if you plan on using you're stock wheels, you should have no problem. i had 10'' wide wheels on my one ton with a 4'' lift and 35's and they rubbed pretty good.

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
Looks like a good truck to start with there. My thoughts are if you put the 4" lift on it then you will want at least 33's or maybe even 35's. I think the tires you have on it now will look to small and out of proportion. My old 84 K10 that I used to have had no lift and 32's were the biggest tire I could put on it without rubbing.

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
my k5 had a 4" lift with 35x12.5x15 tires on 8" rally's with no rubbing, even under compression or full lock. mind you, what size is stamped on the sidewall is rarely what you get. if a tire is 34.2 tall, why is it listed as a 35? more accurate sizing would make it easier for people ( does this fit or does that fit?) to chose

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
I've got 37" tires on 16.5" rims with a 6" lift and mine don't rub. I think you'd be ok.
I'm a newb too though so what do I know lol.

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
That is a good looking truck!!!! You should be able to run 35s on an 8" wheel. I run 38.5s on 4" and don't rub....anymore, after I got the sawzall out....

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
Thanks guys. Another question, and bear in mind I am new to all this. I really like the quad headlights vs what i have. Can i change it to the quad headlights? I will also try to keep adding pictures as I make changes.

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
Which style quad lights? If your talking stacked on top of each other, I think that is just a matter of finding the parts. If your talking the 89-91 style that are side by side, then you will need to change your core support and wiring some...

Re: Newb: 1982 k10
So can I just buy the stacked headlight assembly and put a phantom grille on it or do I have to buy the whole new grille assembly with the tacked headlights first.?
