Re: Electron progress

The lights are from Watson Streetworks. You know, Ogre, for a while I had to put marks on the floor to see if I was even moving! A baby step is still a step.

Re: Electron progress

i've had the cluster out a few times since i had truk on the road
i made it easy to pull without disconnecting all the wires from each gauge
i used insulated spade terminal connections in each wire
each wire is a different color, hook red to red, black to black and so on
i disconnect the speedo, oil line and 10 wires and it on the floor

your either very short or have the seat very low.
my column touches my instrument cluster and i still hit my knees on the column getting in truk.
if you look close, i ground the point off the cluster frame.
never tilt my wheel down either.
but then... i am an ogre

Re: Electron progress

I have the same idea, Ogre. I get electronic plugs that hold 6 wires and use two of them. Since I'm using all electric gauges and an electronic speedo, all I'll have to do is undo three screws and unplug two plugs and it will be out. With my set back firewall and fat hands, being able to remove the cluster really facilitates working behind the dash. You should have seen me trying to install those three little screws from the back that hold the Vintage Air module to the dash. A custom homemade phillips screwdriver, masking tape, an inspection mirror, two hours and a lot of profanity. Priceless! My seat mounts do set low so the seat backs don't show in the rear window and remember, the top is cut three inches. I'm 5' 11" and it feels pretty darn good sitting in there. Kim, Denee and others, thanks for the complements. I agonized quite a bit over choosing the instrument cluster/autometer gauges I did or going more traditional like Ogre. I think I made the right choice for the "semi stock theme pro street look?"

Re: Electron progress

don't you love those hair sized dash light wires in the va panel?
all of mine broke installing the panel.
definitely could improve their panel mount.

forgot your top is dropped, makes sense your column would drop too
i'm half a foot taller, i raised my seat for leg room

nothing ''semi stock'' about your truck, looks good
keep up the good work
