Re: steering column

I bought a 32" tilt column when I did mine (I did use a multi-piece DD shaft however, so I had room to play with in mounting it.)

Measure the old and new column. Look at the numbers?

Re: steering column

Several factors at play here, and not much info given to be able to answer you.

"will it fit" is an open question- anything can be made to work-given enough fabrication skills and time.

A) what type of column did you get/ an aftermarket custom for these trucks? a salvage yard piece from a later model vehicle?

B) you measure a column from the end of the shaft(firewall end) to the top of the collar, just below the steering wheel.

C) Generally, a 32" column is recommended for these trucks, but a lot of us "beefier" guys like to use a 30" for a little extra room

D) there will be fab work involved, even with a "bolt in" as you will have to modify or replace the intermediate shaft between the column and the steering box.(the original is one piece)

It's hard to help people on here when not much info is given.

Did you look at any of what was posted?

How long is the column you have?

How long is it?

Post a picture so maybe someone can help identify it, or else you'll have a hard time getting parts for it, if they are ever needed.
