sbc tech

Have a 72 small block.. had a buddy help me take it apart. Just got it back together on my own.. sounds radical.. problem is.. above the oil filter their is a tapped accessories hole.. I already have oil pressure gauge in one above it.. the other hole shoots oil out.

Anyone know what needs to go there or can I put a bolt in it?

If you have the oil sending unit on top hole by the distributor, plug the one by the oil filter. Be sure and use sealant on the bolt.

Re: sbc tech

That is for an oil bypass that was offered on some vehicles. Plug it.

I cant remember if it is 1/8" Npt or 1/4" Npt. But ya plug it with the proper size pipe plug using sealant.

Re: sbc tech

There are multiple oil pressure tap locations on chevy engines and that is just one of three I know of.
