Re: Picked up something today...

Looks real nice with no blemishes, is it NOS ? I need one for my truck and was in Southern California in the Spring of 2012 and tried to buy a grill surround like in your pic at a large Chevy truck specialty place and after they took the third one out of the box and it too had blemishes on it I gave up.

That is so nice!
Hard to believe what a nice grille assembly is worth these days.

Re: Picked up something today...

Hey Scott,

Since you probably don't have anything ready to put that on why don't you just send it on out to me. That way it won't have to just lay around the shop and get all dinged up...

Looks good!

I gotta get one of those...someday! Guys is there a "how to" for removing the old outer grille? Mine is riveted in several places.

It's riveted to the side brackets, these unbolt from the fenders with three bolts on each side IIRC. There is also a screw and a bolt in the center support brackets and the hood latch bolts. By the way I forgot to tell Led Zep how nice that looks. Who did the polish for you?

Re: Picked up something today...

Thanks everyone! It is not NOS, it's my original that I had restored by a local guy who has been restoring oem automotive trim for decades. It was in decent shape to begin with, but had some dings here and there. IMO it is better than NOS as there is no shelf wear or scratches, as most of them have as Greg pointed out. In fact, I had to take my NOS bezels back to him for polishing because they "stuck out" against the grille! Since it is original to the truck itself, no fitment issues upon re-installation, and with some tape and patience I shouldn't end up scratching the paint. It cost WAY less than NOS and even less than a re-pop that won't fit. It DID however take 8 weeks...but the guy is a one man show doing all the work himself, and at this point I am not in a hurry. I missed out on Brothers this year because the grille was at his shop (well that, and I was in Shasta that day )
