Seat Adjuster? What is this?

On the interior side of my drivers seat in my 73 Blazer there is this lever sticking out. I do not know what it is for. I can tell there is a piece missing. It has a spring on it. Not sure if you are supposed to pull it our turn it or what. Can anyone please tell me what it does? Hopefully it moves the seat some. I have high back buckets. I have no idea if the seats are stock.

Here is a picture.

Thanks, Ryan

It's the adjuster, it connects to the other side with a wire. I can take a picture of a pair I have if needed.

Re: Seat Adjuster? What is this?

That might help. What does it adjust? Does it move the back of the seat or does it adjust the whole seat, like a tilt or something? The PO told me that he left some "clips" for the seat in the truck. But that doesn't explain the wire. How does it work? Do you pull it put and the wire pulls the other side? My 80 just had a bench seat.

There used to be a lever mounted on the tab in front of that pin, it would pivot on that tab and the other end of it was attached to that pin. When you pushed the lever in, the other end pulled that pin out so the seat could slide forward and back.

Re: Seat Adjuster? What is this?

I got it now. I took a look under the seat and tucked up there is the wire. The lever is on the door side. It connects to the tab on the hump side, in the picture I posted.

I was hoping that it would allow the seat to tilt back. I need a little more leg room. If you look at the picture I posted you will see that the seat is not bolted directly to the floor, it is sitting on top of some square tubing. Is that stock? I wouldn't think so, but wow if that was not there, it would be a lot worse!

Re: Seat Adjuster? What is this?

I have a set of factory seat tracks if you need them. They won't work in my truck.
