Never done so before... I just had a look underneath and it aren't pretty straight forward, there only seems to be 4 bolts holding it down.

I have a chain block but not sure how its going to lift it. So I'm thinking a floor jack and some saw horses and just drive the truck out from underneath it. Only problem is my truck is lifted so it will be some screwing around of course.

There are 8 bolts holding it on and dont forget to undo the harness for the tail lights and the filler neck

My buddy and I were able to lift my new bed onto my truck by ourselves. It's easier with 4 guys but my buddy and I are pretty strong so we only needed the two of us.

8 bolts, you'll need an extension to get inside the frame rail on a couple of them and the wiring harness in the back.

I've used a chain hoist suspended from the garage and, on another occasion, a come-along.

Most recently I used my engine hoist.

If you are going to have it off for a while: I also made this simple stand to keep it off the ground, get it up to a working level and help with transporting.

The box is attached via 4 bolts through the box bolt holes into the end of the legs. The guys in the paint shop seemed to appreciate it.

Don't forget the filler neck. I was working with another tech one day and he said hey can you come help I need to get the bed off this truck. I said ok. Walked over we went to lift it and got about three inches off the frame and bam. Tore up the plastic that the neck was attached to.

And the ground strap for it.

Well that's usually attached with a screw to the metal portion of the filler neck and should be grounded to the frame.

Heck probably half of the trucks I have done the fuel pump on that's already missing or broken.
