roof skin for 72

I have rot above the windshield and have been looking to see what I can do to fix without getting a whole cab. I see lmc sells a outer skin not inner ..... sugestions ????

Aww man, its unfortunate you are on the wrong side of the country. I have a cab that I'm getting ready to send to scrap. Roof is in perfect condition. South of the cowl is a different story, lol.

Are you talking about the visor section? Mine was rotted on inside and there is a patch for it you just have to shave the rear view mirror mount or run older mirror.

Omg that does suck I cant locate a cab near me....


And yes right above the windsheild across the whole top by the visor where can I locate that patch at??

That is not a good place to have rust. There are several parts that all come together there. Here is a cab breakdown picture. Typically the rust is very heavy at the joints of the windsheld header frame and extend up into the visor. Have you pulled the windshield to see if there is really anything left there? Posting a picture might help you get specific repair advise.

GMC pauls and many other suppliers cary that patch. Only problem is it has that goofy '71 mirror mount.

The header panel is made by Tri-Plus and available through anyone dealing with their parts...which is about anyone.
