Wink 91 front clip wiring help needed ... Please

Well just to get you up to date I smashed the 87 Burb this summer Destroyed the front clip. We found a 91 Clip and it is now installed. I went to plug in the wiring harness and it did not fit. So I cut and the old plug from the 87 harness and spliced it onto the 91 wiring. Now when I turn on the headlights they work fine but when I turn on the High beams on the Low's go out. Is that the way it works? and is that the way it would have come from the factory ? The truck was a 4 headlight system before if that matters.

Any help would be great.

Thanks Mario.

yes that is the way it works. I wondered the same thing when i put the burb set up on my 84 pickup. I remember someone saying something about a way to make all 4 burn on high, a kit or something you buy, if you want all 4 to burn on high. Maybe they will chime in. It may have been gchemist.

I think you have to have a relay installed in line to make them all work on high. The wiring overheats if all 4 lights burn for too long.

Check out these sites. They tell you how to wire for all 4 lights.

I did that MOD on my truck and i dont have a problem with the headlites or the wiring overheating.

you do how ever need to put a relay on the green wire that is on your original harness and then wire it through to the brown wire (i believe it is brown) that is common between the low and high beams headlites themselves. then all 4 will work on high and the highs will turn off when you click the switch.
