what is this?

I will have to post pics when I get home. I cannot post them from work. im looking for the door striker below the actual striker. it is oblong in shape and has two big Phillips screws going through it.it has a groove in the b pillar it slides in. mine are worn and would like replacement ones. if anybody knows what im talking about, what are they called and where can I get them? thanks

Ive always called them a wedge....don't know what they are technically called. Are they for your 62? I will check tonight and see if I have an extra set.

It's called a door latch. Lmc has them. Part #7. On page 12.

this is below the latch. it is adjustable but it doesnt move each time the door opens

it was to keep the door aligned when closing i don't think they were need ( it looked good on paper lol ) i don't know if they were used in all years what year is yours? ill have to look at my 3 i have 60/62 a 63 and a 64/66

they are needed , they put pressure on the upper latch and keep it tight, I left them off on the truck I sectioned, and went through hours of frustration trying to get the doors to latch right... It was only when I was putting another set of doors on a different truck, and ran into the same problem , that I figured out that adjusting the wedge was how to get the doors to latch.

in 64 with the new windshield, they updated the door latches as well, 64-66 door latches have no interchange with 60-63...

if they are worn (grooved) you can fill them with epoxy and file/sand smooth again. if you don't care what they look like i think you can switch sides (p/s to d/s) and flip them upside down.
