clicking in front right hub when i shift to 4x4

when i shift my 89 jimmy full size into 4 wheel it doesnt engage how do i know well it snowed here and couldnt get up my driveway. Did some listening and can hear a cliking noise in my front right hub any help on this matter would be great.

I'll try and help. I'm not up on my 89's but I think you have the auto engage hubs, correct? If so, it sound like one is not engaging all the way and since you probably have an open "non-locker" front diff. It'll send power to the axle with the least resistance, the one not locking. I'd take them apart or just toss them as they've been troublesome and get some good warn manual lockouts.

hubs are gone.... I have a couple sets of good locking hubs $35.00 set or a set of perfect working auto's $50.00
That includes shipping in the U.S If you don't do any offroad action auto are fine . (easy) the manual hubs are stronger no question..

Which axles i up front? I believe they all had Corp. 10 bolts. It sounds like your hub isn't going in, I would pull it apart and check the auto hub and clean it up and see if that helps, make sure its not broken though. If its broken then maybe you should consider going with stronger manual hubs, only problem is you have to get out and lock them.
