Underbed O.E. 47-48 and Suburban / panel fuel tank
There has been some mystery regarding factory style under bed fuel tanks. This should clear it up and let some folks know that they are available as is the proper sending unit. They were a 2 year only tank in the trucks and then offered in the panels and suburbans.
http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/blog/i...rbed-gas-tank/ and the sender: http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/cart/i...sp?sdes=meg110 Just documenting this here for myself and others interested in doing the infamous O.E.M. style under bed tank. |

Thanks for posting that on the sending unit. I pulled one of those tanks out of a 47 1/2 ton a few years ago to find it was to rotten but knew I could get a brand new one so I was not concerned. It was that sending unit that I had problems with.

It took me along time , several calls to a lot of suppliers to finally get " the right guy" who knew. All others have the sender, but it does not have the vertical fuel supply line and they recommend you plum the fuel line out the supplied drain hole in the lower forward corner. Or, you get a 90 ohm unit instead of the 30 ohm OE. Should have this one in a couple days.
