Rocker studs suck

Ok so put my motor together and found out that my #2 cylinder pressed in rocker studs have started to come out! The are about a 1/4 of an inch higher then the rest of them. What do I do? I want to keep the heads they are 202's and I just started to get her to run and I don't want to pull her apart!!!!

Re: Rocker studs suck

Years ago (about 40) we used to put a rocker nut on them and tap them back down then stake them in place. Stake them means using a sharp punch at a 45 degree angle and punch a dimple in at the point where the stud and the head meet. It kinda anchors them in place. Stronger springs make them climb back out though.
Another method was to drill a 1/16 inch hole at a 45* angle at the same place thru the stud and into the head on the other side and tap a small roll pin in to anchor the stud.
Old style methods but ultimately you might need to get some screw in studs installed.
Or just leave them alone, use some softer springs and they might not pull out further.

Re: Rocker studs suck

Well I got the motor hot and knocked em back in and used the punch method. I think in the end I will need to get them drilled out and put screw in ones.
