here is a picture of some curly english sycamore that I bought for a job about 8 years ago. I had almost 200 feet of it all the same. it was just fascinating

Looks like you nailed that one, if it's not the same truck it is a perfect clone of it. I think there may be more to this story than what meets the eye..Vernski

Not sure how many watched the Barrett Jackson aution in Reno Hot august nights, but there were three or four 62 to 66 trucks that came across the platform that were equally as nice that sold for 32,000 and under, one went for 19,000, if you were looking to buy a done truck that was the place to be.

Re: Holy smokes..144K invested in this thruck

Looks like somebody made a mistake here! Since I didn't read the entire ad until now I just found out that he invested 124,000 not 144,000. And he writes that it was all done PROFESSIONALLY BY OTHER SHOPS. Makes light on why he would invest 124,000! Especially if it was done by a shop with high rates! If you look at the truck closely you will see like the guy said "Its flawless". It does have a 350 but I mistaked it for a 383! That 350 has alot of money in it also. Found out that those gauge clusters alone are around $650! He is trying to sell it for $74,000. Truck appraised at $93,000? By whom? I have spent of $2000 in my truck and you wouldn't even know I did a darn thing to it! I don't like the color but it looks like a $30,000 paint job to me. Overall is a very nice truck, bit I would be scared to drive it cause I wouldn't want to get a scratch on the paint!lol

NOPE. No mistake. The description was revised. It did say 144,000

No mater.

He won't get anything close to what he wants.

Time to move on.

Yeah, I wonder why he changed it from 144,000 to 124,000? But like you said no matter.

Re: Holy smokes..144K invested in this thruck

I'm with most of you. I see ads all the time here in CA saying what someone has invested in their car or truck. It is not really too much different with a house in my humble opinion. You can sink all the money in the world in your project, but the market is what the market is. I call my truck a labor of love and I don't expect anything back if I have to sell it, which I most likely will never do. With this guy, money will talk, walk up with cash, maybe $30+ thousand and he will probably take it. He could be wishing that he will get some hit from Dubai on the internet and that is a possibility. Not here in the U.S.

Re: Holy smokes..144K invested in this thruck

How about this one for sale locally for $25,000.....Think it'll buff out? Has a big block in it, looks like he went sideways into something. Driver side looks fine , cant really tell about front end from the pics.

Re: Holy smokes..144K invested in this thruck

That wagon looks good for $25k. Looks like he hit a telephone pole.

Now, when the owner posts his ad, all he needs to do is show a picture of the drivers side, and mention the "custom wood inlay" on the passenger side...hehe!

Maybe they are "hand scraped".
