Re: this has to be a new record for ebay...NOS BEDRAILS

Nice trucks!

My biggest problem with $2500 bed rails is that it sets a precident on nos parts and makes this stuff unattainable for us 9-5ers.

I'm not trying to be rude, it's just my opinion.

stoneguy, here are the instructions:

On your photobucket page of your picture there is a box that says "IMG". When I click inside that box it says "Copied". Then I go to the reply box in this thread, right click, and select "paste".
And that gives me this:

Who is to say he isn't a 9-5er as well? I wouldn't worry too much about NOS prices, they are already sky high in most cases. If you don't like it, get a higher paying job.

Re: this has to be a new record for ebay...NOS BEDRAILS

I think it is great some people have this kind of money to pay for NOS parts. I love the trucks and if I had bottomless pockets I would do the same. Those trucks are beautiful and do deserve the best out there. I just have to scrounge and find NOS stuff other places than Ebay. So far I have been pretty lucky. It does seem to be a LOT of money to pay for bed rails you are going to cut down. It seems like short bed rails are a lot cheaper than long bed and much more available.

If I had a higher paying job, I would probably just spend the money on trucks anyway.

NOS parts for a NOS truck! That truck deserves them. Nice score.

Its worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Wow both very nice trucks!
I'd take the red one for sure. Not to disrespect your trucks but, its odd that the blue/silver one has original paint since it has painted on pinstripes rather than the tape pinstripe and the deluxe 2-tone trucks didn't come with the aluminum cab surround below the back window. I wonder if the silver/charcoal was added by the dealership when new....again not down playing the trucks just an observation.

Agree; but didn't want to say anything.

The factory stripe was an adhesive stripe with a masking covering; the secondary (inset) color was sprayed first, taped off (using the adhesive stripe as the upper boundary) and then the primary color sprayed over the top.

Removing the paper masking the inset and the protective masking over the stripe reveals the two tone.

Re: this has to be a new record for ebay...NOS BEDRAILS

I definitely think the truck was two toned after it was built. There were a ton of conversion places locally, and a lot of dealers did their own "conversions" as well. Running boards, wheels, a little paint, and emblem and done. It looks like it has a lot of popular accessories for the day on it, so I think it is still a time capsule of sorts. Kind of like the "day two" muscle cars that are so popular now. It is still a very nice truck, even if it isn't 100% what The General had in mind.

Just a side note, I would be a little leery of those tires. I remember the hoopla about the "new" tread pattern BFG Radial T/A's. That was in 1994. Those tires are easily as old as the truck.

Re: this has to be a new record for ebay...NOS BEDRAILS

I won a NOS tailgate band on ebay not too long ago and got them for $650.00 with free shipping and my wife thought I was nuts and another NOS tailgate band just went for right around $2,500.00 and free shipping. LMC use to sell these and not so good and they wanted over $600.00 and were cheaply made I have heard. They do not sell them anymore. They were just not the same. Never seen a set in person but have heard they were cheaply made. You just never know what these things will go for. Mine is just perfect. New by all means. NOS does not come up very offten. It depends on how bad you want them. My truck is now in the paint shop and to me it was worth the money and I am not rich by no means. I am a retired tire builder. MO
