Where to cut steering column

I am putting a 1967 chevy pickup steering column in my 51 with the s10 frame and never have changed a steering column and want to know where do I need to cut the 67 column at? I was thinking it needed to be cut at the bottom of the d shape but want to make sure. I will be using the speedway u joint knuckles more than likely
