wheels rubbing control arm...help!!
just did the 2/4 spindle and rear chakles/hangers on my 96 1500 reg short box and the front wheels rub the control arms....
I love my ralley wheels whats the fix??? and go figure I am broke..lol here is my truck (before drop) if anyone can direct me to a link for such that would be awsome |

You have to trim the gutters on the lower control arms.

When I trim the control arm like that, I always add a gusset or some plating on the bottom to help put some strength back in it.

No sharp edges either (like a 90° cut). Drill a hole where you want to end the trimmed portion & cut to the hole. Smooth everything out when done. Sharp edges can cause stress cracks w/repeat force.

got that done now i notice with the 4" rear hanger my leaf spring is basically resting on the box rail??

It's common to have to trim the floor support directly above the spring.

Scot is right, notch the bed support rail on each side to allow clearance.
Ya know, cutting a coil off of the front spring would bring it down a bit and put the nose slightly lower than the butt. Posted via Mobile Device |
