Donors Doors, what year range will fit a 79 C10?

I was at a junkyard and they had some 86 suburban doors that the guy said would fit my 1979 C10, I was not a 100% sure and passed on the doors.

What year range and models are acceptable to fit a 1979 C10 doors?

I think there is minor thickness differences, but they should interchange, my 74 has 87 doors on it, no problem they open and close perfectly

73-87 will fit but 73-75 have different door panels and 80 -87 have thinner glass. The shell is all the same but minor differences in them. Those doors will work though.

73-76 have their own panels, along with 77-80 having their own. 81-92 have the same panels i believe... All the doors are very similar, with only the inside face being different for the smaller/larger interior panels.

Thanks for all the clarification.

Will the panels from 1979 fit an 81-92 door?

Yes. The door is the same from '77 to '87 on trucks, 77-91 on Blazer/Jimmy, Suburban, and Crew Cabs.

i used 89 parts in my 78 doors
glass,vents,panels,pull handles
only thing i found was the older years used metal rod clips
newer ones used plastic holders at rod ends....you'll see
