Drag racing suspension

Can anyone tell me if i can run stock control arms, adjustable shocks and 2 inch drop springs on the front ans use it for drag racing and it work correctly? Ive heard alot about the moroso springs or using light duty springs, but are drop springs a good idea? keep in mind im wanting to drive it daily, i am gonna run leafs with cal tracs and adjustable shocks on the back as well with slicks.

Re: Drag racing suspension

It sounds like a solid dual purpose set-up.

I would use regular street springs, and stay away from trick springs. The trick springs have different rates so the vehicle can run as fast as it can. Not exactly what a driver needs.

The trick springs are not recommended for the street as stated. I tried to run some on my 69 Camaro years ago and it wasn't long until they was coming back out.

Yes, the springs are the same for at least 63-72. I've also been told they are the same all the way to 87.
