Re: 41 chevy panel truck
Mostly curious what people are doing to swap in a newer drive train. Motor mounts, which motor Trans combo fits best etc. not sure I know how to post pics

Re: 41 chevy panel truck
You can do pretty much whatever you want to do from straight 6 to big block Chevy. Check out the projects and builds section to get an idea of what you can do.

Re: 41 chevy panel truck
What rear end swaps out easily? What years are similar? What do they have in common with pick UPS?

Re: 41 chevy panel truck
What drivetrain do you want to use? What front suspension are you planning to use?

Re: 41 chevy panel truck
I have a low milage (70k) 5.0 chevy truck motor I'd like to use. I also can pick up a 10 bolt Nova rear for near nothing. Front suspension... May be stock for now

Re: 41 chevy panel truck
All of that should work. I think the Nova was a coil spring rear end so you may have to grind off the mounts and weld on leaf perches. Pinion angle is key to success...do some research on it. Measure the width of the rear end for comparison and make sure it will work with the clearance in the wheel wells. You will end up with a five lug rear and six lug front.

Re: 41 chevy panel truck
The Nova is Leaf spring not coil. But I'm assuming the perch width will be diff and need new ones anyway. it's roughly 1/2" narrower than the oem rear. Diff wheels would be in the future anyways(not crazy about the ones on there and would like to go more 40's style so new wheels can be any bolt patter) What is the same on these as the pick ups? what is an easy way to change the front end to add disk and more modern suspension? Thanks
