No, only on that last test the belt was too loose. The reason it was burning up alternators in the past was because it had a combination of bad grounds and a high resistance chargeback path; not just a loose belt.

Back when we were first troubleshooting, belt tension was the very first thing we addressed. The reason it was loose when we were testing out our new wiring was just a coincidental oversight.

But yeah - I still felt like a goober for not having the tension correct that last time!
