5.3 head gasket guestion?

I dug up the numbers in Oreillys site, for the head set (2000 GMC 5.3). There is a number listed for 99-01 (HS9292PT).... also a listing for 02-08 (HS26191PT). Both are Felpro numbers, but it appears that the 02 up has the MLS gaskets ? My question, is will the later set work with my 2000 engine, or are there differences in some of the other gaskets in the set? Thanks for any thoughts on this.... Longhorn

Re: 5.3 head gasket guestion?

Old style heads have this little notch and use a graphite gasket, not the MLS gasket that the newer style uses. The metal MLS gasket will leak on that head.
