Gauge Cover Cleaning

Any idea what may work to get this clear again? Texture wise it is almost like when headlights get that fade to them..

Re: Gauge Cover Cleaning

I've always washed them in the sink with some dawn and a wash rag. Then once it is dry I take 3m Machine Glaze and hand polish it and finish it off with some 3m Hand Glaze. Have not had one scratch up on me yet from the polish.

Re: Gauge Cover Cleaning

Vato-zone sells a turtle wax brand of plastic polish. It was less than $10 and worked great on mine.

Re: Gauge Cover Cleaning

I've had decent results with healight restore or plastic polish.

For crystal clear results, I have wet sanded with 1500 then 2000, followed by a buff with rubbing compound or plastic polish, or headlight restore. Whatever was handy at the time.

Re: Gauge Cover Cleaning

Use 3M Finnesse-It rubbing compound to polish them and then wipe down before installing with a detail spray. Done it many times and it takes scratches and haze out of the plastic. I use the finesse-It for a lot of different things, besides polishing paint.
