Coil spring spacers?

I have a 72 chevy c20 with coils up front and leaf out back. I am wanting to level out the front, either with bigger coils, or coil spring spacers. Anyone know of either that are available for a 72 2wd?

Re: Coil spring spacers?

I would imagine that any patrs store would have the coil spring "helpers" that you twist in between the coils.

Probably best bet would be a new set of stock height springs...readily available from all kinds of places. If your coils are like mine, they are sagging a bit after 40 years.

Re: Coil spring spacers?

All you need are a set of coils intended for a later 73-88 squarebody crewcab and you will pick up about 2". There are a couple of threads.

^^^Funny^^^

Good thread with some good information.... I'd go with the advice given already...

Spring rates should be available from the spring manufacturer, look for those too.

Re: Coil spring spacers?

I'm in the process of doing a front disc swap on my '67, It's always listed to the left, and I found that one of my springs was broken on the first coil. I cut the other one to match, and now she's lower and even. That may not be your preference, but pickle fork, grinder, level...
